Joost Kap is a University of Wisconsin Law School graduate (J.D., 2005) and his practice concentrated in Civil Litigation, Insurance Defense, Business and Transactional Services, Real Estate, and Trademark work. He has experience resolving a wide variety of disputes ranging from small claims actions to contract disputes to large personal injury claims.

Joost brings a good deal of international experience to Bell, Gierhart & Moore, S.C. He was born in the Netherlands, is fluent in Dutch, and retains a European Union passport. He has lived in Madison since 1983. During law school, Joost was a member of the Wisconsin International Law Journal and also worked as a writing tutor, assisting international students with the form and language of writing in the American legal system. He enjoys traveling both internationally and throughout the United States.

In his free time, Joost is a dedicated endurance athlete, participating in Nordic marathons during the winter and triathlons and adventure races during warmer months. He is currently in training for Ironman Wisconsin in 2007. He is also an avid outdoors enthusiast and at one point spent eight months living in a tent high in the Colorado Rockies.
