Laura Lyons graduated magna cum laude from Lake Forest college with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. There she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She graduated from Marquette University Law School in 2005 and earned CALI Awards (highest grade) in Legal Writing and Advanced Trial Practice.

Laura primarily practices civil litigation, including insurance defense, medical malpractice defense and worker's compensation defense. She is currently a member of the Defense Research Institute, Civil Trial Counsel of Wisconsin, the Dane County Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin.

She has been a Big Sister of Dane County's Big Brothers Big Sisters program since March 2006 and was a 2007 graduate of the Madison CIVITAS program.

Laura was born in Janesville, Wisconsin and lives in Madison. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, running and reading.
