Richard Hurd has been providing support to attorneys in litigation matters for over a quarter of a century. During the 1980's he helped develop a litigation support company that introduced law firms nationwide to the benefits of computerized document and evidence management. As both an independent consultant and in the role of paralegal, he has continued to assist law firms and government agencies integrate effective new technologies into their practices ever since. He joined Bell, Gierhart & Moore in 2003, and seems genuine in his claim that it is the best law firm he's ever been associated with.
Richard is experienced in matters involving patent infringement and intellectual property disputes, anti-trust law, toxic waste remediation, contracts, construction claims large and small, civil rights, workers' compensation, and personal injury. He is also an experienced semi driver, graphic artist, line cook and bartender.
If pressed, Richard will also own up to being an artist whose portfolio includes works in both traditional and digital media. But he will claim that his most important roles in life are those of father and husband. He lives with his wife and youngest of two sons by the shores of Lake Wingra in Madison, and every month sends a lot of money to the University of Minnesota, where his oldest son is purportedly attending school.
